Musical Events
American Symphony Orchestra at Bard College
Come hear Leon Botstein conduct the American Symphony Orchestra "with precision and wit." (New York Times). The second concert of the 2011–12 season takes place on Friday and Saturday, February 24–25 and features Ravel's La Valse, Prokofiev's Violin Concerto No. 2, and Stravinsky's Rite of Spring. The final concert on April 27 & 28 will offer a Concerto for Orchestra by both Bartok and Lutoslawski as well as a trombone concerto by Christopher Brubeck and a cello concerto by Howard Shore. Tickets: $25, $35, $40. Sosnoff Theater, Richard B. Fisher Center for the Performing Arts. Both concerts at 8 pm. Preconcert talks 7 pm.
